Referring to your letter of the 23rd August, 1938,

P/Misc. Hong Kong 1, I have to inform you that the above-

named died in St. Clement's Hospital on the 11th February,

1939, and was buried by the Council at a cost of £4.17s.6d.

I shall be glad if you will kindly inform me

whether there are any funds available from which the above-

mentioned cost of burial may be met.

With further reference to your minute

No. 53928/38 of 25th July, 1938 and in continuation

of our minute of 2nd September, 1938, we have now

received from the London County Council a refund of the sum of £15. 16. 4d. said to be the amount found

on Captain John Reynolds.

We presume that no useful purpose will

be served in pursuing the question of the balance

of the amount deposited by the P. and O. Steam

Navigation Co. with the Seamen's Hospital?

Will you please inform us whether we

may pay the full amount of the Seamen's Hospital

account from Hong Kong funds.
